"Garbage time" was coined by Chick Hearn, the legendary play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Lakers who coined a lot of phrases that became common usage in basketball. He also coined "slam dunk." He passed away some years ago; I wonder what he would have thought about the CCP banning one of his inventions?

I've spent nearly 30 years in east Asia observing things, reading, listening. Peter's analysis seems very much in line with what I have observed and concluded from all my experience as well. It may take a while but things are in motion. While change is constant, big changes are not. I believe big changes are in store - I wonder what it will look like. I'm simultaneously anxious to see it and fearful of the 2nd and 3 order consequences. It could get ugly. Thanks for the summation, Peter.

I know a laddy that works on the usa southern border. And she eaid that recently the Chinese are becoming the biggest group coming into the states. And its not just the poorer people but many are professional very skilled workers. Doctor's, hightech workers, etc. They say that the jobs are just not there or not paying anything.
