Towing Champ, Now With Extra Crazy | 2021 Dodge Durango

Clearly Dodge couldn't let Lamborghini have the most powerful SUV for sale, or Mercedes have the most powerful thing with three rows so they grabbed a 710 HP Hellcat V8 and jammed it under the hood of family hauling Durango. And for extra measure, they made sure it'll out-tow every full-size SUV in America save for the Expedition. Oh, and it gets a refreshed interior for 2021...

Everyone moans and groans about FCA quality and reliability. But you have to hand it to them! They make these "batsh!t crazy" vehicles that no one else dares to try. Love them!

I have 2014 Durango with v6 I bought brand new and still going great. It's been 10 years for this body style with two design changes for headlights in 2014 and 2021... It ages well, but I decided to go with Highlander next due to better safety tech and driving assist

I bought an 18 Durango RT with the tow package and blacktop package. In my opinion it’s a highly underrated crossover. I have three kids and find it perfect for us. The towing capability, the Hemi sounds with the Blastin Bobs resonator deletes and K&N intake, the outstanding exterior look and presence. I get bored of cars pretty quickly but I’ve held on to this one with no plans to replace unless it’s an SRT Durango. I’ve had a pilot and similar crossovers and they just don’t compare in my book. We also have a 2019 Accord Sport with the 6MT. The Durango has had zero problems. The Accord has had a few minor issues.

Let's hoped they kept the 24.6-gallon fuel tank! 600+ (V6) & 500+ (V8) miles range might be old fashion, but it's a great incentive for me to buy it!

Another consideration is that folks who love the Challenger but who want to tow trailers are attracted to the Durango because of the similar look and feel. Durango has a similar hood (scoop + heat vents) as a 392 Scat Pack, it has 4 piston Brembo brakes, similar shifter, 5.7 Hemi and so on.

This is my favorite SUV, it's unit body but rear drive with perfect 50/50 weight distribution so it handles well for it's size. It also has a nice muscular look instead of the front drive jelly bean look on most others.

I might go order the R/T with the tow and go package. For a single guy I’m really excited for this 3 row crossover 😂 but it tows exactly in the range I’d need to tow without needing to buy a truck (not a fan of the driving dynamics) and without the expense of a BOF SUV.

You know Dodge is pulling a Toyota/ Lexus. Their line up of vehicles are older but Refreshed and Heavily re-engineered cars from when they were first on sale. Now it’s most reliable brand. But I think the Durango is a good buy now over a Toyota Sequoia, Explorer, Infinity Suv.
