How To Fix Audio Stutter in Adobe After Effects

When previewing audio in AE, it'll often stutter while caching. Here's how to fix that.

Here's how I fixed it. First do the same things mentioned in this video. Then, additionally go to edit-preferences-audio hardware-settings-output and enable Device 32-bit Playback and set Buffer Size to 1024 Samples. Now most important part. When viewing the RAM preview DO NOT MOVE THE MOUSE. Just hold it still and the audio should play nicely, when you move the mouse it will stutter. Thanks Adobe for quality product...

It's very nice that people like you would take the time to post VERY helpful fixes like this! Thanks, dude. By the way, I found this because my issue is preview sounds perfect and then AFTER render it repeats the last 1 second of the audio track, so I get the ending music and then 1 second of it AGAIN. Talk about annoying! After I listen to it in preview, perfect - then 5 hour render....NOT perfect. Any thoughts?

I found a personal solution for me:
Go to the preview window area on the right side and go to frame rate. Set it to 120. go to 'skip' and set it to 5. Go to resolution and set that to quarter.

Don't if we are talking about the same error, but in my case my interface settings de-programed, just went to preferences and switched back the setting from my Focusrite from MME to ASIO.

So I’ve had it muted when not in real time for a while but not it’s not even playing audio? So when I go to preview it’s almost never in real time. So I turned it back on and the audio is back to when it was low and stuttery and slow and it’s just annoying UGH what do I do?!

whats funny is the exact opposite helped my AE playback the audio.

Every time I render and put my video to quick time it just plays the audio. But if I leave the original settings on for the render queue the sound skips.is there anyway to fix that?
