I just thought of something interesting:

I’m late but let’s not forget that story was made up in a board meeting valentines-day was started my Maiseys in New York (they came up with that when they found out march was their least profitable month, (same reason we have mother and Father’s Day)

To add on to this: It was specifically Christian weddings he did as during this time in Rome, many Christian were executed. Also, he was eventually caught where he preformed one of his miracles (to be named a saint you have to preform 3 miracles) where he healed the blind daughter of his jailer. Valentine’s Day is celebrated on the 14th because that was the day he was beheaded. And lastly, we don’t actually know if saint valentine existed, he’s rumored to be 2 separate people, this is why Valentine’s Day is no longer on the official Catholic calendar, however he is still recognized as a saint by the Catholic Church. Please let me know if any of this is wrong, this is just what I know from my own research.

when I was in 4th grade my teacher had a 30 minute talk about valentines and that us at such a young kids should not have boy/girl friends witch makes sense but it felt like we were the for 1h
