This definitely proves a theory I had about the ending, that Poppy didn't betray us. She just needed our help. Maybe they thought these voice lines would give away too much of what they have planned for CH 3, so they scrapped it for more vague voice lines

1:06 the music box adds a sense of sadness and loss. That makes poppy seem more tragic as a character who endured a lot and believes that the player can fix everything

Poppy actully sounds very sympathetic, this is a strong indecation she could be good.

Wish they use used this dialoug in CH 2, maybee there is a chance to squeeze it in CH 3 when Player meets Poppy again.

In my opinion, she should've said this instead. Sure, it would've given out more lore, but there's so much unecessary confusion with the newer one that almost everyone thinks she's just another twist villain.

This version makes Poppy alot less sinister than the original.

There she seemed to enjoy it a bit too much to confuse us and change the course of the train

Edit: 1.6K LIKES??? Thank you so much!!!

I actually like this dialouge a little more than what was in the game.

She actually explains enough in this about what happened to the emploees, theroy was correct, the emploees we came here to find were experimented on and by the sounds of it they didn' withstand becoming toys.

She seems more genuine and... almost apologetic in this ending.

Poppy’s saying that they are gone because they are no longer humans. They cannot be saved.

One of the notes in the game, inside Ludwig’s office, gives a little light on what should have been the basis of the experiments: usage of the poppy flower. That’s why she said she’s at fault… indirectly.

And i think Poppy is Elliot Ludwig’s daughter. Reborn by the means of the experiment as the star of Playtime Co. Ludwig’s tape tells us that he had a tragic death in the family. And the note in his office, apparently written by the man himself, described the experiments as means to kill and revive living beings as something else. “Life-altering properties”.

Thus, the employees are really gone… Because they became Playtime Co’s demonic toys.

I had a feeling that's what see was trying to say in the game but everything sounded so messy that we think she's trying to betray us in reality she's trying to help us with the mission our co-workers set us up with. Figure out what happened in the factory and put an end to what the heck is happening there. The character seems to have lost their memories and anytime we die in game we gain some memories back.

This is interesting as it suggests none of the existing creatures are reincarnations of the old employees/owners, as she seems to pretty strongly hint that they’re gone for good. Also I doubt she means that she directly killed those people, I think she means the technology/energy that created her and allows the creatures to exist has gone on to indirectly kill many people through what it’s created later on.

I wish they used this dialogue instead of the original. It gives so much lore and Poppy gives out more information why the player CAN'T leave yet.

I think they scrapped these on purpose, to give you more of a cliff hanger and to be more in shock of Poppy seemingly betraying you. It throws theorists off for what will happen in chapter 3.

She needs him to help her set things right, she honestly could've said this instead of what she said in the game

They should've kept this in. Even if it reveals a little more about the future of the story, it makes you sympathize with Poppy. She isn't really a villain, she's just desperate to fix all the horrible things that have happened at Playtime Co. that she feels partially responsible for.

It was obvious from the beginning of the chapter that she IS a good character in the story, but...

I guess it was to minimize the amount of Talking in the game to make the game look like things are happening...

Instead of being in one spot for dialogue...

I personally would've loved the 2nd option, but... it's all just teases, so that the player could put the puzzle all together again...

This cracks a whole bunch of things open. What made the biggest impact to me:
-These seem to be Poppy’s audio lines from the trailer!
-The music is different, the last chapter’s music box version. This evokes a more innocent vibe.
-The employees have been gone for a long time
-Poppy is the cause? She says “being able to exist as a doll” is the cause of so many deaths? I’m beginning to think Poppy is possibly Ludwig’s deceased child. The problem is the timeline doesn’t match up I don’t think.

She is worried that you will die
She is not the cause of the train crash she is scared of what the alarm means
"What is-"
She doesnt want you to die
She wants you to save the factory itself and end all of this

this makes her sound less menacing than what was in the game, i understand why this wasn't used, they want poppy to be a tragic character, but also want to get the player guessing if she has good intentions for you in mind, or if you're just a means to an end to her.
