Ok I kinda fuck with this as a legit headcanon for how Peach and Luigi interact. Not in a malicious way, but because they’re both the only people the other can be casual around.

Peach sees Mario as her brave knight (and likely love interest) and so acts respectfully towards him, and she sees Daisy as a fellow princess who she must act proper around for diplomatic reasons.

Likewise Luigi idolizes his brother and is in love with Daisy so he feels nervous around both.

But Luigi and Peach don’t have those kinds of relationships with each other. Luigi has no reason to be nervous around her compared to the others, and while they do have a professional relationship by proxy, Peach doesn’t have to be as professional around Luigi.

And so the two of them just have a super casual friendship where they can both just let loose and be themselves, including messing with each other like this.

Oh and they give each other relationship advice for their respective partners when they hang out.
