"This was, sort of, stepping out of our spacesuit and coming down to Earth and putting on a pair of Osh Kosh and digging the furrows ... we would have to bring the music in, to support the texts: Hunter's Holy Grail" - Mickey Hart

The three-CD set featuring the original album with newly remastered sound, plus an unreleased complete concert recorded on February 21, 1971 at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY.

The show was mixed from the 16-track analog master tapes by Jeffrey Norman at Bob Weir’s Marin County TRI Studios and mastered by Grammy® Award-winning engineer, David Glasser, along with restoration and speed correction by Plangent Processes.

Bob Weir once said "Easy Wind is one of the coolest tunes we ever played."

That man was some piece of work. I can close my eyes and see him standing up there singing this song. 50 years. Seems like yesterday.

My favourite Dead song of all time! You can feel the blood sweat and tears of the blue collar man on this one!

The newly released AOXOMOXOA album was a gift from a gf in late '60s. I'm glad I cherished them both. Still have the LP and the memories. Workingman's Easy Wind mimicked my well drilling life.
Shared drilling tower tales in Louisiana this year.

This album and “American Beauty” in the same year! My Gosh!! And the absolute amazing difference between the two. This album is so totally stripped down raw Dead. Sounds great ✌️☮️🎸

Easy wind, love light; and I need a miracle in no particular order. Love me some gritty dead.

I been balling a shiny black steel jack-hammer
Been chippin' up rocks for the great highway
Live five years if I take my time
Ballin' that jack and a drinkin' my wine
I been chippin' them rocks from dawn till doom
While my rider hide my bottle in the other room
Doctor say better stop ballin' that jack
If I live five years I gonna bust my back, yes I will
Easy wind cross the Bayou today
Cause there's a whole lotta women, mama
Out in red on the streets today
And the rivers keep a talkin'
But you never heard a word it said
Gotta find a woman be good to me
Won't hide my liquor try to serve me tea
Cause I'm a stone jack baller and my heart is true
And I'll give everything that I got to you, yes I will
Easy wind going cross the Bayou today
There's a whole lotta women
Out on the streets in red today
And the river keep a talkin'
But you never heard a word it say

For those using this as a place to post negative comments about people's political we please have just one place online where we all just get along and love one another regardless of our individual political opinions....what better place to just love each other is there than a Dead Chat.

Since '94 or '95, my Jr and Sr years of high-school, I've maintained Workingmans Dead as their best studio albu, my favorite for sure, and this jam is the one I recommend to the casual fan, as a good starting point to delve deeper than the so called 'greatest hits' that most are familiar with. Then any of the Europe '72 albums...but this is for me, the gritty, down and dirty Dead that I can't get enough of. New Speedway Boogie is a great tune too, but it's the blues that I dig

This is one of their best. Critics may have panned Pigpen but the man had soul. The Dead wasn't the same without him.
