Classify Numbers: Rational and Irrational
Показать описание
This video introduces the idea of classifying numbers, specifically rational and irrational numbers.
A rational number is defined as the ratio or quotient of two integers (whole numbers including zero and negatives). Irrational numbers are effectively not rational numbers, meaning that they cannot be written as fractions. Common examples of irrational numbers are pi, e, various square roots, cube roots, etc.
The general strategy for classifying these numbers is to determine if they can be written as a fraction or not. If so, then they are rational. If not, then they are irrational.
