A lecture by Professor Rose Luckin, University College London
09 April 2019 6pm (UK time)

This lecture will consider the current reality of AI in education and its transformative potential. Professor Luckin will introduce what we mean by the term AI and how the development of increasingly smart technologies in the workplace and home requires us to change how and what we teach and learn. It will be explained how AI is already supporting the teaching and learning process, with speculation about the possible futures that AI might provide in order to help us tackle our greatest educational challenges.

Within the entire global academic and scientific establishments, there is absolutely no text or even a frame of reference in which the title of this presentation could possibly make any sense whatsoever (outside of my own work of course). The only context which does exist, however, is polite agreement with no standards of correct use of language.

Additionally, in order to meet the intellectual and indeed psychological requirements of the twenty-first and subsequent centuries, the term "education" will need to be redefined, further revealing the meaninglessness with respect to the content of this talk. Exacerbating the problem still further is the fact that from the outset many denotative and connotative problems have arisen from the term "Artificial Intelligence" which defines the "AI" industry which will become more clear as critical flaws start to become apparent both within the industry and nation states, by which time discussions about remedies will be rendered effectively futile and moot.
