This video explains a handy guitar neck trick for finding chords in a key super fast and super easy. You’ll learn to find the chords in any major and minor key within seconds. You will also learn to write better progressions by adapting the same system for harmonic functions of chords like tonic functions, subdominant functions and dominant functions. When you combine these very easy to learn systems you have the power in your hands to play and compose with chords in any key whether its major or minor.

Don't chord functions stay the 'same' between minor and major? For example, in minor the v (or V if harmonic min) is still a dominant function chord just like in major, but in your diagram you keep the color labels the same between keys, leading it to show ii as dominant in minor. I'm not sure that's right.

Thanks for the great lesson. Are chord functions of major and relative minor key different? For example, C major has Tonic (C, Em, Am), Subdominant (Dm, F) and Dominant (G, Bdim) and chord functions of A minor are Tonic (Am, C, F), Subdominant (Bdim, Dm) and Dominant (Em, G).
