The Theri was definitely blind in Dominion. And it makes it scarier. It's like the old man in Don't Breath. They may be blind, but if you make your Appearance too well known in the slightest sounds, you're dead.

I'm pretty sure there's only one Theri in the movie and the one who fights Giga is the same one who Will Smithed Bambi earlier. The Theri was flailing its arms around during the fight, implying that it was confused as to what was happening, and when Rexy pushed Giga onto Theri's claws, Theri seemed shocked as if it were saying "OMG, what just happened!? There's something big and meaty on my claws!"

Possibly a genetic problem? They might be able to make pure dinosaurs, but maybe with some imperfections, like blindness.

I've read online that the Therizinosaurus was blind because the genome was not yet complete and they were working on it.
It was using vocal vibrations to "see" like the owls do, by hearing with the eyes' cavity.
The Therizino was totally and for sure using echolocation.

The Therizinosaurus is my favourite new addition to the Jurassic franchise and the scenes it was in were amazing. The best part is that it's the first herbivore that actively helped to take down the antagonist dinosaur, which makes it even more badass.

Though I'm not fully convinced that the Theri is completely blind and is still able to see vague shapes because despite of the milky glace in his eye, the pupils were still quite visible. In most blind animals, even the pupil is almost gone.

Another reason I don't think it's completely blind was just before the Theri started it's fight against the Giganotosaurus, it did seem to respond to the light of the flare that Kayla shot to distract the Giganotosaurus, leaving me to think that the Theri does seem to have enough sight function left to distinguish light from dark.

That explains why the Theri was so aggressive towards everything, it was blind and so it perceives every living creature in it's vicinity to be a potential threat that needs to be eliminated.

Bro I completely agree with your idea and I have a small story to tell about that. So when I was in the theater on the first day of release, and the Therizinosaurus appeared, I could hear so many people going, “why can’t it see her” and “this is stupid”. But like hello can y’all not see it’s blind. I had to tell my whole family too. It’s one of my favorite dinosaurs and the fact that it’s blind is just cooler to me.

If you look very closely, you can see that the right eye of the dinosaur is milky white while the left eye looks normal. So I think it’s blind in the right eye and has poor vision in the left eye

There is one feature that I noticed when watching the Therizinosaurus, it was using its claws to feel around the area as it moved. Basically using its claws like a blind man uses a cane. Which is why it moved so slowly around this area not just because it’s blind because it’s feeling it’s environment so that way it doesn’t bump into anything or stumble over objects.

Also another reason for being so very aggressive and highly territorial is because it’s blind. Animals that house handicaps or problems with their body like a broken leg or being blind or deaf can be even more aggressive than normal because they have no idea what’s going on around them, or if whatever is around them is either a threat to them or their territory.

Oh… that explains why it was so defensive. Because it can’t see it really can’t gage what’s a threat so it just assumes everything is.

Taking its blindness into account, it would make sense to me that the Theri was using the Giga's roars to figure out where it was because it and the helicopter would be all it could hear probably since Rexy was down when it walked in. I would also venture a guess that it was posturing with its claws out to try to scare the Giga away when Rexy got up and shoved the Giga into those Freddy Krueger hands that the Theri packs around

What I enjoyed about therizenosaurus is that it was DIFFERENT to other "antagonist" dinos. Similarly with the Spinos in JP3, and the mosasaur in the JW trilogy, they just feel different to the T-rex/raptor vibe they so often go with. So it stands out. It's not gonna eat you, it's just gonna kill you cos it's slightly irritated. That's fucking terrifying. I'm amped for the new dino you spoke about in your recent Camp Cretaceous vid. It looks so different to what we've had before. Which means it has to hunt/attack in different ways. SUPER fun to watch! More of this, less of raptor and rexy vibes. Like, so many spikes and horns on herbivores, why not make use of them for some good storytelling.

That theri held its own against the giga even though it was blind. What a badass.

Also the theri that fought the giga with rexy was 100% the same individual. It confirms this by showing the theri being surprised that the giga was on it's claws. And the way it reacts to it's broken claw by feeling it and paying less attention to the giga proves it relies on it's other senses to know where it is and what happened to it.

I’ve been saying this since the trailer!that’s why it couldn’t find Claire when she was crawling into the water Lol love the content! Great channel 👍🏼💪🏼

The Therizinosaurus solo scene was probably my favorite scene of the movie, it was the only scene that gave the old tension that previous movies gave which was very lacking in Dominion.
The Theri was more menacing than the Giga and I didn't mind it, it's a testament that dangerous animals don't necessarily have to be predators.

I think they gave the Theri the Rhino treatment, male black rhinos are known to have a temperament, are territorial and defend it, and due to its poor eyesight they feel vulnerable and attack anything they detect.
The Therizinosaurus in Dominion is the same case and I'm sure it's no coincidence, I love that they gave the Theri this treatment in the movie, it makes for a very dangerous Dinosaur.

Swrve, i can confirm 100% that the theri in the final battle was blind, i had to watch more than 6 times and found out so many details.I am saying that the theri is half blind and it can barely see . the flare gun kayla used to distract caught the attention of the the theri and was able to visualize the giga the same way as echo location as it makes a noise and when it heard the object infront (giga) it stopped eating and got ready to defend as it knew it was in danger . when the giga let out a battle roar, it was trying to defend itself and i can see why it couldn't use its claws properly in the battle, it was confused. The giga bit the claw and theri bit its head to defend . when rexy woke up and pulled the giga towards it . it didn't see that fast movement and was holding it's claws up just in case if it comes for it . and when the giga died it was more confused on what's going on, when rexy let out a roar, the theri also let out a roar confused by the rexy (like cats letting out a purring noise when they are confused while meeting other cats)as that's the only thing it could do... then i hope what happened is, the theri roars at rexy to scare it away raising its claws, and rexy leaves as it was tired of the battling . anyways that's just a small theorie !i know this might be a wrong or bad theory, but i wanted to let you Thank you, to the people who finished this, feww! this is so long!

The therizinosaurus in the final battle was the same one as in the forest. It was minding its own business and only responded when it heard the flare and the gigas breathing/roar. It’s fighting wasn’t deliberate and was just kinda swinging, it was also kinda surprised when it impaled the giga.

There’s something about blind animals that in my perceptive more dangerous and scary.

When I rewatched dominion it seemed that the therizinosaurus was more defensive against the gignotasurus
