I bet the sauce would taste great on other foods like bread pudding.

I have a hot buttered rum sauce I have made for bread pudding. Not often enough. I got the recipe from another youtube creator who passed away early this year.

Some recipes are truly like ambrosia for the soul. Not just the ingredients but the memories, heart, and spirit that make them so much an enrichment for a meal. Even if only occasionally.

UPDATE: for a much cheaper easier lower calorie sauce thats super quick/excellent tasting: use 1 box hot vanilla pudding (cooked type); use water instead of milk to prepare; use half the prescribed liquid; add spot of rum flavoring. makes a thick translucent sauce so u can still see the christmas pudding instead of obscuring it. looks like a beautiful glaze; fabulous!
