The Abandoned Ice Creamery - Latrobe, Pa *DEMOLISHED*

The Abandoned Ice Creamery - Latrobe, Pa. An abandoned gem to say the least. This place appears to have been gone for several years given its poor condition. Looked like at one time, it was a great place among the locals and looked to be family run.

There is no obligation and I'm not asking you to! All proceeds go toward expenses involved in travelling to film for you guys. I do not make a profit. Thank you!

I hate seeing small places like this close. It gives the community character. Please support your local businesses.

Growing up in Latrobe the one side was couch's market. It was a small grocery store a great place to get lunch meat and other cuts of meat. The pie shoppe side was a laundromat. They both was there for many years well into the eighties or more. There has been numerous changes since then.

Wallie, one of the most things I like about your videos is the respect you show towards the property! Interesting place you found, I’m sure a place like this had good ice cream! Thanks for sharing! 💕🍦🍨

That used to be The Pie Shop and Couch's Market. Geo's the bar and restaurant beside it was Halula's Restaurant in the day and Geo's just closed at the end of 2019. The property is to soon become yet another Sheetz.

I like this place because it has aesthetics and character; I'd go to an ice cream place like that if one was in business near me. Enjoyed the video, wallie.

Someone's dream, time, effort, money and dedication dead as he/she probably is.

Right across from the old Drive-In Theatre; long gone. I don't even think they do flea markets there any longer. If you do want ice cream, there's a Valley Dairy just up 30; I think it's in front of Lowe's.

Your weren’t far from the laughlintown pie shop . My folks lived in Jennerstown and Boswell back in the fifties . I’ve been to Latrobe many times . Very nice video Wallie brought back great memories, thanks.

This building and the bar/restaurant called Geos next to it are no longer there! Both have been torn down and a sheetz is being built there!

It looks like the upstairs was living space at one time, probably for the owners.

Great find. Sad to see the mom & pop places go out of business. They’re usually the best compared to the chain places. I wonder who you’d get if you called the phone number on the sign.
The basement was most likely used as storage, like a lot of places do. The upstairs looked like it could’ve been an apartment or office of some sorts.
The sign at the end could’ve been a hearing for sheriff’s sale. Whoever had it could’ve died & not have anyone take over paying their taxes or just got lazy & didn’t wanna pay. It’s hard to say.

Wish u went in so many options I would have at least took a peak through the chained up door with the camera to see a shot if there was one but what an interesting find and good video

Wallie, it sucks that you couldn't get it! Would have loved seeing the inside especially those windows up stairs. Really enjoyed your video.
