It would be very ironic if China annexes Siberia. During the Soviet occupation of Baltic states, ethnic Russians were settled in occupied Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania (according to 4th Geneva convention Article 49 it's illegal: The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies). And now Chinese are settling in Siberia. You reap what you sow...

Any country under the control of a single autocrat should have NO say in the development of any new order. Whether they have nukes or not.

A new order dominated by China and Russia? These are two countries that may well not exist in their current forms by the end of this decade. Between demographic collapse and political instability, they both are looking into the abyss. So, good luck with that.

As for Europe having strategic autonomy from the US, dream on. In fact, it is Putin who is driving the US and Europe closer together. This includes tighter economic integration as well. There are lots of alternatives to Russia and China in terms of both raw materials and manufacturing. The shift away from Russia and China is already underway.

China has had its eyes on Vladivostok and that coastline for quite some time.
It will not only give them the port but a huge amount of raw materials that Russia has failed to exploit.

Both China and Russia are expansionist land powers in Eurasia. Their imperial methodologies are quite similar; to push against and gobble up small or weakened nations on their borders. Harken to both the long conflicting history between Russia and Ukraine and China and Vietnam. As both countries are large, they may also eye off each other's territory, and like two large boxers, face off a stalemate. Russia has more propensity to a purely military solution than China, and has over 2000 nukes. China has less nukes, but a much larger population for manpower resources and has a stronger manufacturing sector than Russia. Thus they stalemate each other's power, but compliment each other evonomically; China needs Russia's food and petroluem and Russia needs Chinese manufactured goods since it is cut off from getting it elsewhere by sanctions. China might however, win in the long-run on the coveted North-East or Pacific Siberian Coast, because Putin is slowly bleeding the Russian people white in the Ukraine war.

This really feels like the partnership between Japan and Germany in the last Great War, they have nothing really connecting them culturally and if things go wrong they will without thought quickly stab each other in the back. Then there’s Iran playing the Italy card trying to recreate their great culture of antiquity when they were the center of the world 🌍 it’s all the same story…it’s like the North Pole has moved slightly 🧐 and the energy of WW2 is on replay!

The man made one's are sinking, I doubt making more would be better. The horrible construction China has these islands won't last a decade.

Harbin was unknown small village when Polish engineer decided to make it the main city for East China railway)made by Russia. So Harbin is very specific place with mix of Polish, Russian and Chinese culture. Also famous Harbin brewery was established by another Polish man Wroblewski.

I find much that is described here as exceedingly unlikely to come to fruition.
I cannot imagine what China could provide to Russia for control or nationalization of Siberian territory. 🤔
I can clearly see why China would want it.

Secret submarine bases in the Sea of Japan, even if planned, is not to the liking of Japan as an island nation which must protect it's sea lanes to facilitate trade, energy and food to Japan which these PLAN submarines threaten. Japan has not expressed concerns about Chinese submarines at this time, presumably because they are quite confident in the Japan Martime Self Defence Force's superior technological and naval training abilities to detect and sink Chinese submarines, and by their US allies in assisting Japan with ASW.

China is crucial for the Russian economy. As it is sanctioned and hobbled by the West, natural resources was the linchpin to propping up the Russian economy. Otherwise, it would have already collapsed. China on the other hand benefited greatly from the cheap oip and gas imported from Russian and that's all what fosters the economic ties between these two.

It's understandable that some may mistake a portion of Siberians for Chinese people. If one had claimed a century ago that Siberia was part of China, it wouldn't have been surprising at all.
