Etrian Odyssey 3 HD: Alraune

A lot easier than she was in EO1, that's for sure. She's still the toughest of the 3 post-game quest bosses in this game, but she's a lot more manageable to deal with.

There's not really much to Alraune. She's just a simple straight up slugfest with barely any gimmicks. So in short she's essentially a defensive check. If you can deal with her offensive moves, you're golden.

She lost access to her fire attack, so she only has access to her ice and volt attacks and Tendril Thrash, which is strike damage. A Hoplite severely defangs this fight, particularly if it has a Ninja sub. She'll use Ancient Pollen every 6 turns to inflict every single ailment in the game on the party, so prep up with Prevent Order or just brace yourselves. Once she drops below 50% HP she'll break out Vampiric Kiss, which has a high chance of going after your lower HP party member, so heal them up if you can.

Mists are also an option for severely cutting down her damage if you lack a Hoplite or offensive support like disables. Either way the fight is just kill her before she kills you.

Her conditional drop is to kill her with ice damage. Unfortunately, she's immune to it. So you'll need a composite attack like Freezing Blow, or Regal Radiance to snag that.

I like how some returning bosses from the first game got redrawn, yet here we still have UNITINU Alraune.

I finished the normal ending of EO3 last night and I wanted to thank you for writing an awesome LP of EO3 that I resd at one of my lowest points in life. I looked forward to reading more in between my summer classes and realizing how much of an improvenent EO3 was for the series.

Alruane is such a nightmare to take on when the quest first comes out but you made her look positively easy. Straight up she has my honest vote for "harder than Drragon."
