here are my top tips for scoring well on the GMAT
1. read the questions and the answers first
- read the questions and the answers before reading the long passages or solving complicated problems
- a lot of the time, you can apply shortcuts for the Math section (e.g., solve for the last digit)
- for the Verbal section, you almost never have to read the full passage to answer the question (look for keywords and focus on relevant sections)

2. use the process of elimination
- the wrong answers are often more obvious than the right one
- after reading the question, immediately cross out the wrong answers
- often you don't even have to actually solve the problem

3. manage your time well
- GMAT questions can be time consuming since they are long and convoluted
- always time yourself when doing practice questions
- try to solve each question within 2 minutes on average and know when to move on
