I felt so bad for Meri during that picnic table scene, Meri's life and dreams were forever changed and it wasn't what she wanted, then had to manage Robyn's emotions after Robyn insterted herself, took her energy, and told an allegory of how meri was hanging onto a loveless marriage like a salt to the wound
