best of publishers has been one of your finest series. I love regular top 10s, love the debates. but you start to get to know each DT lad's tastes. this gives you just enough restriction to think really creatively. have learned about tons of new games from this series, thank you.

When I clicked on this video I thought 'I don't know any Matagot games' and then Tom mentioned 10 games that I know, some of them in my collection. :)

Another Inis fan here! I love its elegance. Also, another shout-out here is for Sun Tzu (formerly Dynasties) Strangely similar to Raptor in terms of the simultaneous action and bluffing. If you play the two games back to back then Sun Tzu actually seems to have the edge. However, Raptor has seen a lot more play time from me though I'm not sure why - I suppose the theme overrides the mechanics this time around.

The first one was obvious to anyone who watches DT regularly :) I thought Cyclades would be 2nd, but that was before Cpt. Sonar, apparently. Great list, and a great company.

Tom, what are your thoughts on INIS? I know Sam did the review and liked it, but I noticed you had a bit of a low rating for it on Boardgamegeek. What were your issues with it?

the player pieces in River Dragons look so much cooler than those shown. also Kemet>Cyclades.

For me (and others) playing board games is like going to the movies, we don't look at the publishers. It's not like "Hey, honey are we going to the pictures tonight to go watch that latest Fox Films movie !". So when I saw the list it was like "who are these Matagot guys ?" ... then I realised we have Kemet, Cyclades, Captain Sonar, Inis, Raptor and Ultimate Warriorz ! plus all the expansions (cross over pack also) for the first two ! LOL. I bet you are thinking, how could he not know ? hey I only read the rule book and the set the board with the pieces, I rarely look at or remember the logo on the box !

Maybe he left Inis from the list in purpose, because it's not released everywhere yet ;)

My only guess is that Tom hasn't played Inis (Sam did the Dice Tower review, after all).

But I feel it's something he should preface. W/ all these lists, like he did w/ Renegade, he should disclose what major releases or cult popular games he hasn't played so there aren't tons of questions about it.
