Security Breach is honestly making more and more sense the longer it's been out. And I really truly think that the lack of ghosts in the story makes the most sense. A story about AI gaining sentience sounds so much like what I would expect out of Scott Cawthon and seeing it reinforced in the books just really nails down that I think that was the direction Five Nights at Freddy's was trying to go for

Something to think about, is that the newspaper that Gregory sleeps under says "Local Residents Continue To Go Missing." and not "Local children continue to go missing." So we can assume those that went missing is not just children. Adults are going missing too.

I never understood why people thought the SB animatronics were possessed, I just assumed because of the context of HW that it was just some glitchtrap shenanigans.

Oh, I just realized. In ruin, the headless Freddy with the word "prototype" on his foot and the present in his chest. That represents the Freddy from the storyteller story. The present in his chest is supposed to represent a present he stole from a child

I never thought they were possessed. I always understood the glamrocks as having their base personalities and them being cranked up to 200 because of Vanny and the mimic. As for Freddy, he was put in safe mode and couldn't connect to the main network, cutting him off from the programming that caused them to react that way

FINALLY. I've been saying this since it came out. I love that SB, Ruin and HW2 took the final step to just going "Yea there's also AI in this world." it's so fun. I have a theory I need to write properly soon about each of the AI developing disorders that tie back to common disorders developed by Child Stars, J/K-pop Stars, etc due to abusive treatment by corporations. Freddy is a people pleaser / fawn trauma response type, Chica is a binge eater, Roxy has an inferiority complex, and Monty has anger issues. The fact that the AI develops these kinds of traits is like, scary strong proof that they're self aware and fully sapient/sentient.

I think its interesting to use the interview as evidence that Glitchhtrap isn't possessed by William or his agony. Because what's always stood out to me was a bit after the 17 minute and 30 second mark in the interview, Scott is asked about Glitchtrap and mentions he's always liked "possession of machines or circuitry" or something to that effect. This actually makes me more convinced he is imbued with agony than anything.

But I can definitely see either being the case honestly and as long as it isn't just straight up William's spirit, I don't think it's unsatisfying either way.

Security Breach was never about bringing back Purple Guy & the Missing Children and undoing their happiest day, it was never about some "Afton family rebirth". It's a part of the new era, the new story– a story that at its core is about the dangers of AI.

I still firmly believe Freddy is referring to the blob when he says "my friends are down here" (paraphrasing, I don't remember the exact wording) He says something like "they are so angry, but I can protect you." That is right when if you try to go down while not inside Freddy, you will be killed by the blob. I see it as the game telling the player "you have to be inside Freddy for this part." I don't think he is referring to Monty, Roxy and Chica because, first, I don't think they are down there yet, they follow Gregory down, and second, there is no reason for him to say he can protect you from them at this point, you already know that, it's been that way the whole game. However, I don't think this necessarily proves Freddy is possessed. I think it's possible he could have originally been a different animatronic from a different location, one where he was with some of the animatronics now in the blob. We do hear him wonder if he has always been a Freddy. I'm not sure how long Fazbear has had this sort of advanced AI, but Baby does seem to be distinctly different from Elizabeth, so it does seem she could be AI, and if she is, then certainly Freddy's AI could be quite old.

I'm glad more and more people are agreeing that Security Breach is primarily about AI becoming sentient and not really about haunted animatronics (Though I wouldn't be surprised if there's a compromise in the future where it ends up being both in a way). The Blob is the only one I can say 100% without a doubt is actually haunted. If you believe Burntrap truly existed via the ending and that he was actually haunted by Afton instead of simply being a new form for the mimic, he's now apart of Blob anyways. The only other candidate I could see be convincingly argued as being haunted, is Bonnie, but it's possible that due to the formation of sentience, him getting attacked and destroyed may have degraded his mental state, ultimately causing the bizarre scene we see in Ruin (perhaps he even spread himself in a fractured state to all those small bots?).
