Thermopile vs Thermocouple

Показать описание
If you have a water heater that has an electronic gas control, you have a thermopile. For water heaters with a standard gas control before 2010, you will have a standard thermocouple or a thermocouple with a thermal cut off.
A universal thermocouple generates about 75 millivolts to operate a gas control. A thermopile will generate about 750 millivolts to operate an electronic gas control.

Thank you! A simple explanation without a bunch of yammering. Rare on youtube.

It would be additionally helpful if you showed the tail end of the thermocouple and the thermopile as they more readily aid in identifying the differentiation of the two devices.

How do I remove the thermopile from the red piece that is attached to the burner assembly? Does it slide out of its hole?
