I take the Lexus RC F for a test drive and offer some early driving impressions. Not a full technical review but my experience at the wheel of the RC F and highlights that stand out to me. An extended thanks to Jemca Lexus in Reading for the opportunity to shoot this video.

Thanks for watching, Tim

On Top Gear they showed how heavy and slow the car actually is against the BMW M4, but I don't see this car as some wannabe sports car, it's holds more attention to people's dreams, as something you spend all night up thinking about, about how good it is to drive, how good to own, how you look next to it, etc. My dream car is a Nissan GT-R, not because it's fast, but I think it looks luxurious, and it could easily make me feel successful. All these wars between the fans of car makers are not only insulting to the fans themselves, but it's offensive to people's dreams. There are many cars I'd rather not have the pleasure of driving, but I know there will turn out to be something in them that I really love about them. The new Toyota Corolla, for example, I use it it driver's education, at first sight I did say to myself "Why would anyone want to drive that, " but when I first sat behind the wheel of it, I found that I really loved the smoothness of the wheel and the interior overall. I started seeing that car in a new light and I don't feel the loathe feeling anymore when I see it. I think this Lexus is a beautiful car, yes, it might not be as powerful and cool sounding as the LFA, but it's for someone who likes cars, but also modest luxury. I would never buy this car, but I want people to fufill their dreams and get what they want.

This is really what it is about as 95 percent of the owners of these types of cars will never put them on a track and prefer a smoother ride for everyday use. It has power Luxury and all the toys .. I had a C63 AMG Coupe and this doesn't seem far away from that ! PS Ignore the Top Gear bits as this is the real world, not driving sideways and burning a couple of grand in tyres on every trip out to the

As someone who has just driven one, I cam highly recommend the drive! As a daily play thing on the open road (not a track, as who drives around a track every day?), its a pleasure to drive.

My favourite thing about that car is the WTF numberplate! :D

Some of you take Top Gear way to seriously.

The only things about this car I don't like is the weight and the slightly outdated interior. However to the people that say this car is garbage are completely wrong. The looks are aggressive and sleek, the v8 is incredible, it has Lexus reliability and it's amazing on the road. Sure it's not as good as an M4 on track but at the end of the day these are not track toys. The are fast luxury coupes. I love both cars but you can't say the RCF is garbage.

The M3 and M4 might have the car beat around the track, but the RCF has them both BEAT through its styling! It just looks so freaking MIGHTY! Also, no other car brand look like Lexus, so thats a plus for buyers who really want to stand out. Had the pleasure of test-sitting an IS300F and the interior really impressed me! Felt at home instantly.

It's a good car and I don't think it deserves all of the backlash it gets. Sure the M4 performs better and sure it's a tee bit quicker. I can still see why one would prefer the RCF over it or vise versa. It's not a track car and that's not a bad thing but people act like it is. For cruising, for GT'ing, or for everyday driving (which like 75% of RCF/RS5/M4/C63 owners do with them) it's a great car.

In reference to a couple of negative reviews, Chris Harris was right on the money but Jeremy Clarkson- d- who the fuck takes what he says seriously? This is coming from an avid viewer. I like him and Top Gear but that review was crap. All I heard was a bunch of rambling *Oh it isn't an LFA* and *Oh it doesn't perform well on the track* who the fuck cares?

Hey, I just saw a Jort Ricket comment on a McLaren F1 startup video, from 3 months ago, now a comment 18 mins ago on Shmee. Intriguing.

Nice front grille and I'm glad they decided to keep the V8. Outside of that the car seems very boring. I think the rear is very ugly. The interior is boring. The exhaust doesn't sound very aggressive and they look worst than the fake exhaust on the IS-F. I just don't see the point of buying this car instead of everything else around it's price range. Great video Shmee keep em coming!

Lexus and Cadillac. Two brands that I didn't used to like or even consider, but who nowadays are doing really awesome things (like the CTS-V, the RC F or even the regular IS 250). I definitely would consider buying those machines, for the first time in my life. At the same time, I'm really disappointed with the way some traditional european brands like Audi and BMW are going, specially about the regular "daily driver" models. The exception is Mercedes-Benz, I really like what they're starting to do.

I wonder how much of an impact the top gear review actually had on the RC-F. I bet its a small but somewhat noticeable drop in potential sales. I've had the chance at checking it out for myself and all i could think of is why wouldn't i just get an M3/M4? Or maybe even wait for the C63 AMG.

do you agree with anything Top gear or other reviews online (i.e Chris Harris) saying that it feels one generation behind the M4 on the performance front? good video by the way

I have driven the IS 250 (current shape) and was really impressed with it, but problem I had with it was the engine and gearbox (too thirsty for the power it produced and the gearbox couldn't decide what gear to be in)

but it is a shame the normal RC is not coming here, I was considering at the time waiting for the RC 350.

But glad I did not wait.
