My 15 RCF has been a great purchase. Very low cost of ownership and I've been able to do all of the work myself. Very easy to work on. People love seeing it. Up until last year no one knew what it was, now its starting to get recognized. Absolutely great car all around.

I worked for Lexus Dealership in the Middle East, I sold many RC F, they are reliable for a High Performance car yet not like the other Lexus Models ..with 2015 Models I have seen few with transmassion issues, brakes issue, Fuel pump problem was the most common, the later Models improved ...overall a very good car.

I bought a used 2019 in 2021. It’s worth more than what I paid for it today. I’m not looking to win any races. Suits me fine for a weekend cruiser. I love that nobody like them. Keeps them rare. As far as the track goes, rule #1: never track a vehicle you can’t afford to total and laugh about it. I saw too many grown men cry at the track. I track hoopties.

The RCF is very liked in the Nordschleife community.
Some of the regulars have RCF's for the reason you quoted in this video. They don't want to buy another dedicated track car, with all that is linked to it (storage unit, trailer, insurance, set of tires, etc).
The RCF, in this way, is ideal. You come home from work, stop at the track, do one or two laps, and go home.
Over and over again.

In regard of "deterioration on the track". The ISF is now fairly old. And we can see some of them driving around with fairly high mileage (270'000 miles f.ex), and still clocking at the Nordschleife to do laps. I believe that this is linked with the fairly undertuned nature of the 2UR. Even if you drive him hard on the track, I think he's still way under what he could theoritically make in hp, RPM and torque numbers. But it's just my two cents.

I think my friend got his 2016 around 2018 for around $40k. Had a lemon STi and misses that driving experience, but does not miss the headaches of a car not working. Main thing he pays for is gas and tires haha.

Awesome vehicle reliability is a 10! The only issue I have heard about these RC-F is the fuel pump, and the dealership will replace them for free for a recall. Even if the vehicle is out of warranty.

We were waiting awhile for this in depth review

Looking forward to checking this one out. Honestly, I think the RCF will depreciate pretty quickly in a couple of years. That will probably be the best time to pic one up.

i just traded in a 43k mile f83 m4 for a 15 rcf with 38k miles. i owned a 2015 rc-350 f sport awd years ago, and really liked the car, but wanted more power. i could not afford an rcf at that time. so fast forward to now. i did like the m4....pure rocket. it only had a tune. what i did not like was the thought of continuing to own an aging bmw out of warranty. yes bmws have become more reliable, but the s55 has a few known issues( crank hub, leaky intercooler, plastic charge pipes) i am 50 years old, by no means rich, but i do ok. i just wanted a comfortable, reliable cruiser with modern features. all out speed is a rich mans game i no longer care to play. i was running low 10's in a stock engine 1987 buick GN 20 years ago. i had that fun out of my system lol!

Awesome video sir…you have helped me reset. I’m trying to be patient on a 2024 IS500 order with my dealership. However, Patience is sometimes hard for me…so I test drove an RCF the other day, and since then I’ve been searching, and calling on options out there. As you point out, a 2015 with 15K is going for 51 grand!! Looked at another video, guy bought his used RCF 2.5 years ago with 17K for 44!!! The after pandemic price is absurd! My research, with the help of your video and others will have me wait for my 2024 to arrive! Thanks again for the video…just what I needed!

Nice review & advice! I laughed out lout at the Starbucks comment because you're right, most people +will not+ track their cars. For street driving dynamics, swap out the OEM Bridgestones for Michelin PS4S tires, install a racing air filter, pop that bad boy into Manual & Sport S+, and the Mr. Hyde side of the IS 500 is just_as_capable. I drove the RC F at the Lexus Performance Driving School and the car looks freaking awesome, but I found it to be very heavy and not as nimble. The IS 500 is way more nimble in my personal opinion. Interestingly enough the LC 500 on the track shrank itself around you and was much more nimble, which shocked the hell out of me! At any rate, all of the Lexus performance cars are great, but you have to commit to keeping them in pristine condition. The gas and consumables (tires, brakes, oil, etc) will cost money, so be prepared and don't do the Merc, Audi, or Bimmer thing and participate in the 'Delayed Service' trick. That's not fair to the car and truly a basic move. 😒🙄 Thanks for posting! 🙂
