Day 12 of this medication… felt like a roller coaster on Prozac. I started out with horrible headaches as a side affect but they soon went away . Some days I’m full of energy and happy then some days I still feel that pull of overwhelming thoughts flooding my mind . I don’t dwell on them as much as I did and it is helping my ptsd but I am gonna give this medicine long enough to get the full effects of it and give it time to work hoping for the best!

As a tough as nails Gen-xr who scoffed at the idea of meds being the answer for me, I was completely and utterly wrong seeing as SSRIs have changed/improved my life. So If you like me, licked lead paint chips as a kid, hit your head a few too many times...don't write of medication.

The thing that scared me from ever trying Zoloft for anxiety is the sexual side effects and the fact that there's people suffering post sexual side effects that may never go away in rare cases.

I quit prozac as it was making me want to drink alcohol more, now I am back to my old self, sometimes happy, sometimes sad but real and in touch with myself more. The sadness is telling me I'm lonely, I want love, I'm disappointed I never had children. Normal needs in life. I'm feeling ok med free, I'm human and I'm going to salsa dancing and karaoke to look for natural serotonin. Prozac gave me an accelerated happiness, I lost weight but I felt like a false person with little empathy.

Finding what medication works for you is an exhausting process imo and has turned me away from medication for years but I am now looking for the right fit for me

Before Prozac I was unstable, couldn’t hold down a job, depressive, couldn’t function through out the last couple years it has really transformed my life .. not going to say I don’t have hangups because I do however, since I’ve been on Prozac I can work through my issues a little better and I’ve been able to hold down a job for about a solid year which is a miracle for me.
The only downside to Prozac I don’t like is it speeds my heart up

I took Zoloft and lexapro, didn’t like either one. Zoloft made me see things that didn’t exist. I am now on day 3 of Prozac.

Zoloft made me crazy and my thoughts were so loud. I couldn’t even focus on daily task. I have been on Prozac for 3 days and feel so good. The thoughts are not so loud and I can tell what’s real or a trauma thought or flashback.
