Recorded on Saturday 4th June 2022👇
Join me for a tour in East London Cemetery = where we visit the last resting places of people who were "famous - infamous - heroes - interesting"

Everyone from = A Jack The Ripper Victim - A Whole Family wiped out in a fire - WW1 Spies Shot At The Tower - An American Civil War "Medal of Honor Recipient" - WW2 Heroes = To a much loved & famous East End Actress.

Then we end the video = by watching /seeing /reading about "the people /events of who's graves or memorials, we visited in the earlier part of the video"

This may just be (part 1) of more to follow. If people find this interesting? Like nearly every cemetery or churchyard "there are some very interesting & or famous /infamous people" buried in East London Cemetery.

It's beyond me why people would vandalise the graves.

Absolutely loved that Luke thanks so much for all the hard work and effort. My Mum is from the East End and was evacuated to Bletchley Bucks when their home was bombed in WW2. Good old working class people the men worked on the Docks. We emigrated to Australia in the 1970's and I miss my homeland to this day so content like yours is VERY important to me and gives me a greater understanding of my background. I have shared this with Mum now 88 and the last member alive of her large family - this will be very important to her too. If you ever come across any Sheaf's in the graveyard then that's us lot! God bless Luke positive vibes and best wishes from Sydney Australia ❤🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Great video. I live just around the corner to the cemetery. I often go in there just to look at the graves and pay my respects.. it's a lovely cemetery. Very quiet and well looked after. It would be great to see some more videos. Keep up the great videos

Good Video. Thanks.
Went there for the first time in my 68 South East London years recently and did not realise it was so near The Blackwall Tunnel..

Next to the military marker for Maurice Wagg is an American Civil War star marker, the GAR stands for Grand Army of the Republic. Thank you for this video.

Hi Luke, I've just stumbled across this vlog and had to watch it.
I was brought up pretty much opposite East London cemetery, in fact, my dad's ashes are interred there.
As a kid in the late 50's and throughout the 60's my mates and I used to play in the cemetery, as bad as that sounds. The part that backs onto The Memorial Grounds (incidentally West Ham United's former ground prior to Upton Park) was all overgrown and jungle-like, so we had a great time playing there.
Happy memories of a bygone era.
Thank you.

Maurice Wagg, a British man who served in the American Civil War. Rest in peace. Just for information, when a service person is awarded the Medal of Honor, that person is said to have RECEIVED it not won it. With respect, Mr Wagg.
