Every time I start a new video, I first rebuild my donut from scratch with out the previous tutorials and its helping me navigate the interface so much faster. Highly recommend taking the extra time to do this because now I can build this donut in less then 4 minutes

I really love that you are doing mistakes on purpose to show how to fix them as well as explaining how everything works and why. You're a really good teacher and for the first time I'm not so intimidated by blender anymore

I'm sure this has been said a million times, but I love that these tutorials don't have music in the background. Every time I pause to go work in my own file I can keep my own music rolling 🙏 Loving the series so far.

4 days in a row through this donut series, I think it would be my best looking donut.

I powered through 4 parts in 1 day and I'm a complete beginner and I understood! Thanks Andrew! You're a very good teacher.

Update: I stopped the project for now because my hard drive is getting full very quickly. I need to regroup and proceed another time. But it was so fun learning and understanding what things are.

I made it ! After YEARS that my friends didin't stop to tell me " you definatly should learn Blender to improve your editing and SFX skills"...I have to admit that after just a few hours and your tutorials, it is way more fun and easy than I thought. Shame on me !
By the way thanks for this series. Of cours I continue the trip 'till the end ! 🔥

absolutely goated tutorial, so intuitive and straightforward. no cringe attempts at adding comedy, no distracting theatrics. just a cold cut, content rich tutorial that genuinely helps anyone at any stage of learning blender still find something useful to learn. keep being the legend you are (as a side not i think the coolest thing you have is the captions that show what key you're pressing as you're doing things in blender)

4 days into this donut tutorial, and I still haven't given up like last time I did a donut tutorial. I think Blender Guru is the best for starter tutorials.

At 13:55, The "Front Faces Only" brush setting doesn't prevent you from painting on the far side of the mesh because the solidify modifier has been applied. Every visible face is a front face, including the ones on the underside.

I been trying these tutorials on and off for almost a year now, life and motivation always made it a struggle. This is the furthest I made it thus far, and honestly I'm glad i got to this point. I'm more honestly writing this message to keep myself motivated to keep at it, in the hopes some day I can make my own fun thing.

Hi Andrew, I tried to get started with Blender for quite a while now just to find myself utterly confused and overwhelmed because the tutorials I tried to follow were explaining everything very well and detailed but it was too much before jumping into a project. This made me struggle even to navigate in the software. Your guide is very easy to follow and I just wanted to say how much I appreciate that I can work along your explanations step by step without the fear of missing out on anything important. I really feel encouraged by this to be able to finally get a hang of it. Thank you so much for making this a very pleasant and comfortable learning experience!

The donut tutorial from 2.8 is the only reason I stuck with Blender. Keep going it's 100% worth the learning curve!

Finally made it to Part 4 after 3 months of several starts, stops and restarts. Step 3 was making me a little batty because I could not get the icing mesh to look like the video. Finally figured it out when I went back and slowly did things step by step and of course it was user error. Still pretty useful in learning what can happen if something does not behave the way I expect it. I have tried the doughnut tutorial several times it the different version of Blender but never got past Step 5. This time around I do feel a lot more enthusiastic about seeing this through to the end. I've been doing two doughnut simultaneously. One following the steps exactly as laid out and another with my own spin on things.

I started using Blender on my own for pleasure and hopefully for my studies/work, and your encouraging words at the 19mins mark are really appreciated. Thanks !

Just a tip for people using the mask and not seeing the shadow: turn off x-ray on the top right corner or press alt+z. I was stuck on this for a few minutes
