I've been bikepacking on a 90's super flexy aluminium Union Goldrun, on a Bianchi Via Nirone 7 and now on a nice titanium Van Nicholas Rowtag - and I have had incredible fun with all of them. Indeed, the bicycle is not the most important thing with bikepacking. It's the route, the people you meet and the ability to enjoy the unexpected adventures that matters most.

That Stayer is such dreamy bike. Not forgetting that wishbone seatstay, what a beaut :)

The Checkpoint could easily be used for light credit card touring or long endurance road rides. Love the Genesis for the external routes cables. Make cleaning and maintenance a breeze. I would switch both bikes out for a 2x setup. I'm an old retro grouch who likes to be able to get in the perfect cadence.

Good to see at least one flat bar option in there.

Fairlight Secan - fantastic bike. Just finished a 3 dayer riding the Hebridean Way loaded up with bags. Can't go wrong.

Salsa Cutthroat for me. Light, modest price for the spec, tons of mounts, big tires. Go slow or fast.

This is mostly just a list of gravel bikes! Off the top of my head, Kona Unit, and Sonder Broken Road are genuine bikepacking bikes. You had a Trek in there, so how about the 1120, one of the only bikepacking bikes produced by a big conglomerate manufacturer?

Imo the pine mountain 1 more than than fits the the bill for a do it all adventure bike. No need to spend the extra thousand on the 2.

37c is a great size because pinchflats become more or less impossible. any smaller that it is unruly on heavy bumps andy bigger and its excess tire for road use

You have to buy a special praxis t47 cup for the checkpoint, wasn’t special tools half the reason for the press fit hate? If I switch away from praxis I will have to buy another t47 cup some day. Don’t get me wrong, it is a great system, it makes for a way stiffer bb on an alloy bike. I’d have to say I’d take my bb86 on a carbon bike over it though.
