I also saw the entire 6 hours of the performance. You can't help but be curious as to how The National would handle it, having agreed to do it. I read that Ragnar Kjartansson's art work, including this piece, is about finding the "comic in the tragic." That the National allowed themselves to become a work of art, is interesting and actually might be something to aspire to, (a state of higher consciousness).

I listened to this song when with the love of my life and never thought I would live to see the day where I would relate to such painful lyrics. Sadly things have only just came to and end and I am only just starting to contemplate such tragic loss.

Stumbled into a showing at CAC in Cincinnati. Sat and watched them play the last 4-5 iterations. Crowd cheers, handshakes and hugs all around, wine poured… and then they did an encore! One more time…

I remember watching the recording of the performance at Fortworth Museum of Art and man...they were suffering, the drummer was rubbing his hands...they were exhausted even though they planned to have each performer get little breaks in between
