The Volo fight activates Childhood Trauma

Literally the instant his theme began to play, even before it got to the actual Cynthia part I recognized the theme and just went oh no, then he sent out a spiritomb and I went OH NO

Volo has a togepi in his first fight, and a gible soon after: "... O h n o."

Now imagine fighting Cynthia at her strongest, and having to fight Giratina in both his altered and Origin form right after without getting a chance to heal.

Of course you get the Spooky Plate from this quest; for many players, it is the actual embodiment of Fear!

And she's a man!
And he's evil!
And he's single-handedly responsible for every bad day you've had since you got to this time period!
And he's teamed up with a vengeful Giratina!
Now fight and beat him in a 6-on-8 battle with no heals in-between, or _EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING _*_DIES!!_*

I finished the original Diamond just before the remakes were announced, and even with ~8 years of experience, the knowledge of how tough a champion she was, AND being at the average level for the Elite Four, Cynthia nearly wiped my entire team. That experience alone was enough to nearly traumatize me. And then...Volo. I head the piano and knew....there was no hope for me. ;-;

I didn't play D/P/Pt as a kid, but Cynthia still made me SUFFER in the remakes. Hearing this theme told me that Volo was gonna kick my ASS.

And Volo even says he will keep trying to meet Arceus no matter how many centuries it takes so it makes me think Cynthia could be his new incarnation rather than descendent and that's... terrifying
