'WarkaWater' is a project conceived for the mountainous regions in Ethiopia, where women and children walk several hours to collect water.
To ease this dramatic condition, the studio 'Architecture and Vision' is developing the project 'WarkaWater' which is harvesting potable water from the air and honors the disappearing Ethiopian warka trees.
The 9 m tall bamboo framework has a special fabric hanging inside capable to collect potable water from the air by condensation. The lightweight structure is designed with parametric computing, but can be built with local skills and materials by the village inhabitants.

God love those children that have to walk so many hours that they may now have water in so many ways. Let's talk to our churches about these projects and get these type of invention to ALL the people. Even us people who live in any dry place in the world.

If I built this on my land in the Oregon high desert, then I won't need a 10, 000 dollar well that will just dry up anyways.

Planet earth is bursting with enough resources and needed water for all its life.  The problem is not shortages it is greed, lack of parity, unsuccessful modes of transport, and did I mention greed?  We can do this, we earthlings can help each other, we've done so much already - played golf on the moon - watched the sun rise and set at the same time, from space - on and on.  All they need it potable water - let's GET IT DONE.
