A good security guard only has to remember a few rules. And all of these rules are the exact same thing. "You are not a cop". I spent 12 years as a guard watching guys who had so much trouble remembering that one thing it was wild to see. They would wear cuffs when they weren't suppose to be. They would try to detain people, it was almost like they couldn't understand that no they did not have power of search and seizure and they certainly didnt have power of arrest.

My recommendation is stay out of high risk fields like bars and clubs. On top of the standard 500k to $1mil policy, most locations now want want assault coverage. That will cost you a few thousand a month.
