I cut the blaster piece in half and use it as an additional lightsaber blade which can get me more lightsaber and orange lightsabers!

Also you can bend them in the little mountain part in the middle and keep bending it till it breaks off then you have your lightsaber

There are some rlly cool purple ones from Lego Minecraft sets that could be used for a custom blaster

By attaching some sort of bushing or other technic piece with an axle hole to the end of the bolt while loaded into the shooter you can make a quick extension mechanism
