Surprised the original design wasn't brown furr like the ozaro form with golden pupils and keep the red eye lining.




The brown furr represents the base ozaro being perfected.





The golden pupils representing the super Saiyan form.





The red eyeliner represents the red eyes the great ape has.

I would suggest changing the speech to “the first PUBLIC appearance” as, if this was only a month before the episode came out, that episode had been scripted, storyboarded and made for months prior. It was definitely made before a single month before.

The gray doesn't look bad, but the red just stands out and is really iconic. Not to mention a bit more intimidating than the grey.

Not to start anything but ssj 4 was the original concept for ssj3 but gold. Toriyama changes it cause it was to much coloring so that's why he went with the long hair and no eyebrows. The one your speaking of gave birth to the original concept art for ssj 5.

What about the first time ssj3 in the anime? When we see goku transition from great ape to baby, we momentarily see him in the a ssj4 like state

Super Saiyan 4 the only Super Saiyan transformation that actually looks and feels like a transformation and actually is cool looking and not lazy Toriyama need to take a page from the guy that made Super Saiyan 4 because design actually looks good and it's not lazy also I call BS when it comes to him forgetting characters and names and such he uses that excuse too much and honestly I don't believe it one bit
