Your Sweet Child has the best Mom and Dad. Finding early and securing her needs… step in the right direction for fabulous and yes challenging days but with the support staff to assist your family. We had one who did not get the support he needed, ( a fine private school but it was not for him)…. “ if I could live my child over again- “ but I cannot. It is hard. But life is good and he is on a good path. Sending you support thoughts your way. Loving your knits… gardens and inspiration for the Spring. Merry Christmas!

I cannot tell you how much joy this countdown and the stripes project is bringing me this season!! And knitting along with you has made it even more enjoyable ❤️ I love that we'll have fraternal twin sweaters!!!

Our twins were evaluated in pre-k and they have IEPS now. It was the best thing we did for their education! For them to have the extra support they needed boosted their confidence and is getting them set up for Kindergarten. Good for you guys for taking the leap to going through the process for sweet Eliza. I hope it's just as supportive and helpful for her! <3

I’m so happy for you to get the services that your little one needs. I’m an elementary teacher and it’s amazing what the right accommodations and services can do for each individual student. Way to go, mama! ❤🎉

I was a teacher in my first career, and I'm glad that your daughter's school system offers the individualized instruction she needs. Parents and teachers working together to help a child reach educational goals is such a worthwhile endeavor. Blessings to you, Doug, and Eliza as you begin this challenge together.

Definitely take care of yourself! One of my kids has an IEP--it is so helpful and one major part is it decreases so much of the stress for him and us. Just be sure that you stay on top of the school that they are doing what they are supposed to be, every year until she is old enough to self advocate (if possible)...(my unsolicited advice). Your color palette for your advent is soo beautiful! From what I can see on screen, I don't see that you could put them into any order that wouldn't work. Garden therapy is great--I can't wait to see yours in the Spring! We have tried roses, but the deer eat them unless we put them inside the screen enclosure (it's a Florida thing so that we can enjoy the outdoors without being eaten by bugs, gators, and snakes 😂).

We are totally in the midst of evaluations for my kindergartener and I FEEL all that emotion right there with you. We're chasing the right words too and to know what she needs when it feels like working on a puzzle with out a picture. Oof. It's the deep in it parenting advocating understanding. ❤️

We're on our 2nd kiddo with the IEP process, makes such a difference for them (and us as the people who love them so much). Feeling inspired to look at gardening now as well!
