As a woman married to a man with a mental illness (bipolar) I can say that at times you have to set aside how much you love them and protect yourself/your kids. There was a time my husband refused to take his meds. We separated for 4 years. Hes now medicated and doing well and we've been together since 2004. Divorce in this context has nothing to do with love. Sometimes it has more to do with self preservation.

It's about time! I'm extremely close to this type of situation, my father is bipolar and my mother has dealt with his manic episodes for 50 years and I've dealt with it for 50 years as well, but not like my mother. Mental health is no joke, it's hard being around someone who is bipolar. You never know what each day will bring, especially when they won't take their medication. My father does this at times and he is so difficult and hard to understand. God bless Kim, she needs it for putting up with him!
