Saw Rory in a small club in Milwaukee (Humpin’ Hanna’s) a couple of months earlier. He absolutely shredded. Glad I made a tape. Scorching hot rock and roll. He left the stage and wandered through the crowd jamming right in front of everyone.
Saw him again in October, this time at the Riverside Theater, an unknown Canadian band called Rush opened.

Epic from start to finish. Thanks again to Burt Sugarman and company for all the tender loving care in producing and archiving these amazing episodes.

Absolutely love The Kinks. There is no other front man in all of Rock who thrives on audience participation than Ray Davies.

If You Don't Know It Learn It --- I saw The Kinks in Brooklyn College Theater a day before Thanksgiving weekend in 1977. They were great and yes ! they played Farther Christmas. I also saw ELO @ MSG during the same year of 1977.. So Long Ago. 🎸

Love the Kinks. Dave’s backing vocals are the best in rock.

It would be almost ten years after this before The Kinks would have their highest charting hit in the United States...”Come Dancing”.

In Cuba, during the worst years of the communist persecution of rock and roll, the Midnight Special was a show that was worth any risk. No stupid ideology would ever stop this music!
