Match Fishing's Alex Bones was recently joined by Dan Bennet from Shimano at the excelllent Lindholm Lakes, where the two discussed the new Shimano Aero Competition family of poles that features the X1, X2, X3 and the Power Margin. After a demo from Dan, Alex then got to fish with the Aero X2 and considering the price point, it really is an outstanding piece of kit.

Audio from Dan's mic sounded like it was in the lake, or recorded on a very worn cassette tape.
I think he said the top kits don't come with a side puller pre-fitted, because "people like to fit their own"? Can't say I've heard of anyone who likes doing that!

Its amazing what quality of pole you can get for £250 . Im hoping to upgrade from my 10 metre edge monster but dont know to go full 16 metres or 13 metres as ive only just got used to handling 10 metres

Hope the spares are easier to get than the carbon tips for the Aero X5 feeder rods otherwise you'll be waiting a long time.
