Evening, DayZ Forum Moderator here. Thank you for this video, it is exactly what is going wrong with the community at the moment and what makes reddit and the forums such a special place to be, every second post seems to be about this and people not understanding what it's all about.

Noone ever claimed it'd be a good game in Alpha, but the community wanted to have the game and play it and said "look, we don't care about the bugs, just give it to us" -  and now it's those (longterm) memebrs being the most vocal about the "shit state" of the game.

To be honest, I accepted that it's in Alpha with ton of bugs, glitches and hackers. Even though I have a very old and seriously bad PC (almost 8 years old) and almost every 15 - 30 minutes I am losing connection (same with lags), especially nearby other players except my friends. Overall, I also had many fun times with friends even with my technical handicap. But hey, some bugs are also funny, like flying trees or so called "feature". I am really enjoying this game, and I will be more happy when it will be finished and more optimized.

ok, so you state that alpha is a product still in dev, and is intended to allow the public to give feedback. Then you say rocket said that it was not in a state which the public could really give any feedback on.  Basically we all know it is buggy as shit, and massively featureless. It is a proof of concept at best. The guys at BI pushed rocket to publish it before xmas for sales reasons - not because it is true alpha. They had to revert to a version that was somewhat stable because their latest inhouse version with features was broken. It isnt what we expect of the final product at all, and they know of all the bugs - we are not testing it at the moment, we are not providing any feedback that is valuable.. it is basically out because of sales and they were scared it would turn to vapourware.

very good video, very good points. thanks for making it mate. it needed to be said, sadly it will probably fall upon the same deaf ears that seemingly are unable to read the warning message in steam or at the start of the game.
