In Mexico we don’t have a housing crisis. We have different crisis. But economy is stronger than ever.

It is a commodity. Anything that requires to labor of others is a commodity Until you can force the labor of someone else. You need capitalism for all of these things. Where is the government going to get the funds for these things? Though taxation. How do people generate spending that could stimulate GDP growth and a larger tax base? Capitalism.

These solutions don't work, they are simply asking for government and community handouts.
There are a number of ways to reduce the number of people without shelter, problem is they all have negatives and also usually cost considerable money.
1. Build more shelter - costs additional money, takes time, stretches material and labour supplies increasing costs further.
2. Reduce Building Standards and increase building density - reduces short term cost of owning shelter whilst increases longer term costs, takes time.
3. Fit more people in existing shelter - reduces living standards, requires people to be prepared to live with strangers.
4. Reduce the number of people who need to be sheltered - population controls including migration/emigration measures, takes time
5. Invest in additional building material sources, labour saving methods and trades training - considerable cost and time required.
6. Reduce requirement for travel to cities for work/increase work from home and expand buildable land away from cities - requires investment, environmental damage, takes time.

Its nots capitalism in itself, in my view, but the privileges of the wealthy (for example paying less tax, while tax on labour is high) who are getting superrich. Money makes money; how about buying some real estate? Etc.etc.

How do you balance my needs as opposed to my neighbor's needs.

Look up 3d printed residences. Far cheaper and yet, far better, than the usual homes. And it's recyclable. Then, use gasless and oiless self running generators and solar to power residences EVs and everything else. No more plugging in. No more pollution. And we'd save huge amounts of money and materials because of doing things these ways.

The root cause is not capitalism it's just that there is a lack of new houses vs the number of new homebuyer. Supply and demand, your "solution" won't solve anything if there is more housing built...

These are free market solutions. Just make it easier to build houses

Garbage Garbage Garbage. We need More Houses, that way people arent all bidding on the same property, inflating the price. How about cutting some of the ridiculously restrictive rules around building houses, like how new builds are charged HST. That's right... After all the materials were individually taxed, and the worker's pay was taxed, they slap on HST to re-tax everything again at a cool 13%. Make it worthwhile and legal for people to build houses, and THEY WILL.

All of the non capitalist soluntions require capital, go figure. So someone has to put up the capital to get any of these "solutions" to work. Buying a share in a co op iwll cost the equivalent of a new house (or apartment) to start with. Now afterward will one be allowed to sell their share in the co op? if so for how much? If the co op will control the sale or prevent the sale what use is it. Don't like your neighbour or the way the co op is run, tough! Land trusts have all the same issue. Public houseing is a mess at the best of time (look at TCHC). Government funding coomes from taxes which are raised on businesses and people who earn money in a capitalist system

Neo maxism at its best. sounds good but doesn't work.

The problem is "dead-weight" people, with no practical skills. Just look around you and you will see. Stop trying to save everyone, save yourself.
