Near one of the most expensive suburbs of Athens, in an abandoned
quarry where sheep graze on the hills, a large circle is carved on
the ground. Many have speculated about its purpose, but it remains
unknown. Humans, animals and even clouds moving in the wind seem to be
inexplicably drawn to the center of it.

Foivos Chalkiopoulos was born in 1999 in Athens and studied Architecture in Thessaloniki. Perhaps that is why he prefers to make films about places rather than people. “Watering Hole” is his second animation film and was part of his thesis project. He now lives and works in Berlin.
