RIP to him. But I will say, respectfully, there is something poetic about a chess grandmaster dying at the chess board. It's like a famous warrior dying in battle. The last thing he sees, is the thing that encapsulates his life the most. All the passion, all the hard work put in, all the successes and failures, all the moments of pure joy and deep sadness, all of it on the 64 sqaures. My condolences to his family and friends.

Even in the moment he died he was winning. What a man.

RIP Ziaur Rahman.
He is a chess grandmaster from my country actually (Bangladesh), and it's really tragic to hear that we lost one of the few great chess players and masters we have. 🙏🏻
He was so great of a chess player that he really died while playing chess. His strategic brilliance and sportsmanship shall be remembered. My condolences to his family and friends.

This is quite possibly the only time in gothams channel history that the comments are serious and not joking about Levy

A heartbreaking loss for the Chess World. Rahman's contribution and influence on chess is immense and will certainly continue to inspire many budding chess players. His dedication to the game was truly unparalleled and his legendary games will always be remembered.

Super cool to see Gotham use his influence as the largest chess YouTuber to highlight and honor the legacy of such an amazing player that most would not have otherwise known about.

Well done, Levy. Well done.

When in 2002 he became the second ever GM from Bangladesh I was 8 years old and it inspired me to learn playing chess (he was an alumni from my school actually). Was never good at it but I have fond memories of playing against my father, siblings and friends for hours.
Thank you, and rest in peace legend!

I wasn’t sure whether making content about this would be appropriate but what a fantastic tribute to a fantastic master of the sport.

I just want to say thank you for making a video on Ziaur Rahman sir, I have been a huge fan of you and him for as long as I have known about chess. You are probably not going to get a lot of views in this video because of how unknown he was and because we Bangladeshi have very few people who like chess.
And, still you made this video. Thanks a lot
