Mr. Hull - I've said it before, and I'll say it again: You are a freaking genius. Either that, or the whole world is stupid.

There are so many designers that could use a course from Brent Hull.

That looks scads better, and again, I love your explanations of why these improvements work. I'd like to think my eyes are getting trained to see these differences by watching these videos. I know I can't pass a porch with columns now without noting whether or not the capitals are extending beyond the beam!

I especially like that you've made the addition harmonious. I knew what to do with the half-circular part, but would never have figured out the continuation onto the rest of the addition. Such simple thinking makes for a lovely and pleasing building. My congratulations again.

I love design Wednesday. Probably my favorite recurring show on YouTube. I'd watch it all day long if you did it. It's so comforting to see ugliness become pretty.

Thankful for your Wednesday videos. And such a huge improvement on this project. Thank you so much for sharing it with us for free, it’s sparked a new passion in me for classical architecture that I never knew I had. Thank you sir 🙏

YES! The original clunky mass makes the pillars look short disproportional by breaking it up with the moldings fixes that. The windows rock. Everything about now speaks to me. It just said hello. The other update is timeless and makes me want to listen to the story except through my eyes.

Today is Thanksgiving, and I am thankful for this channel and can only hope that more people watch it, and it spreads like wildfire.❤

Yet another reason in why you hire an architect. Thank you Brent.

I would have ruled out this house solely because of the monstrosity of the add on. You saved it by integrating the addition back to charm of the original structure. Bravo!

Love these chats... PLEASE do not stop these types of videos.

What’s great about this one is that, other than moving the columns, there is no structural charges. The whole thing can dramatically improve just with the knowledge of what goes where.

I was watching a Rick Steve’s episode in Florence Italy, and sure enough, I was seeing the components I’ve been learning from your videos in the architecture there. In the towering facades of the cathedrals the columns/pilasters were larger on the bottom and then got smaller and smaller along with higher elevation. More simple on the bottom and then more ornamented as they went up (I.e. Tuscan to Corinthian) I pointed it out to my wife. She didn’t seem to care… lol. Good job on this one. It looks a million times better. I couldn’t have come up with that, but maybe one day I will.

It all looked wrong, but I couldn't tell you why. Your modifications make a world of difference.

No doubt we design/build folks cheer your approach. Problem is: clients rarely have such a refined eye. They often would rather spend on a whiz-bang item and just live with what drives our eye crazy (I’m not talking low budget clients - even high 6-fig projects). I’d love to see an episode where either you or interviews address how people tackle this.
