3:43 This toolholder with a V-groove is for round tools such as boring bars, the other toolholders are for regular tools with a square shank. 8:09 This is not the way to do it. You should mount a toolholder into the toolpost, set the pointer on the toolpost to the 0 position, then square the toolholder up with the chuck jaws, or zero it in with a dial indicator. This is the 0 position, regular turning tool at right angle to the workpiece. Once aligned, you tighten the toolpost nut, and you don't touch that nut again. With the toolholder out of the toolpost, you can freely rotate the toolpost's outer shell around the inner toothed center block. You get 40 different positions (spaced by 9 degrees) this way. To prevent the inner toothed block slipping under heavy loads, it can be pinned to the topslide, this is what these holes at the bottom are.
