Certainly valuable information. However, I noticed that you chose the 2nd fastest DNS from the Benchmark tool. Is there a reason you didn't use the "fastest" one instead?

You almost always only communicate with your DNS for a few milliseconds while you are establishing a connection. Changing DNS will not improve your ping times and speed. Switching to an ad-blocking DNS is much more likely to improve your surfing experience. There are plenty of free ones.

best video hands down for dns information also if anyone is on windows 10 try and see if its limiting your bandwidth turns out mine was at 80% turned it down to 0 and went up quite a lot

Is there even a downside to changing the DNS? You said that it's only useful in those scenarios but is there a reason you shouldn't consider changing it?


Also my gateway thing doesn't give me the option to change my DNS but I found out you can change it in network settings from the control panel. Is this essentially the same thing?
