'That Horrible Day' — English subs and translation

Harbin, Manchurian Empire (Russian emigration), 1942

A piercing poem by Arsenij Neslemlov, full of horror, misunderstanding and grief, which later became the song "The Terrible Day" by M.D.P. It was first published in the “White Flotilla” collection, published in 1942, shortly before the last living fragment of Old Russia, the Russian Harbin, would die (and with it the poet himself, who will die in a Soviet prison for transcripts). Nesmelov himself was in the troops of General Kappel, who were about to capture Yekaterinburg and liberate the last Russian Czar and his family, but they became only witnesses to the worst crime of Russian history. These events struck the poet so much that even almost thirty years after the events described, he could not forget them, which gave us this tragic song. We dedicate it to our 5000th subscriber, which leaves our hope that real Russian music has its loyal listeners, and once again, as in a poem by another great White Guard poet, Sergej Bekhtejev, "Banners will waver again / The mold of resentment will be washed / The shoulder boards will shine again / The royal anthem will thunder "!

My family was once of the Nobility, she was of the Menshikov family. My grand grandmother escaped with her sisters and brother and her grand mother. She was born in a rich environment, the Red Army burned everything and she lived in poverty.

A beautiful end tragic poem indeed, the story it tells... First of triumphant victory at the thought of saving the Czar but eventually it is one of defeat and sadness. I don't know what the situation in Russia is when to comes to how people view the Czar and this event, I also wonder if many people work to maintain this historical and cultural heritage however there cannot be too many so I graciously thank you for what you do with this channel.
