The real fear is the fear of risks. 20-30k is a lot, even if you make 100k a year. When the cup is 20% it’s comfort that keeps people there, unable to break from it. I know people who work from home and make a lot of money, but never travel because they’re afraid to be alone and that they might not have a good time, etc.

The scariest thing someone can do is just put themself out there, especially somewhere you don’t speak the language. But that’s how you fill the cup. Those are the new experiences that break people from their comfort and wake them up from sleepwalking. Which is exactly what you described but differently. You don’t need 20-30k to enter a new uncomfortable situation, you don’t even need to leave your country, you just need to say yes to something you wouldn’t normally do, or go somewhere you wouldn’t normally go.
