Give Thanks | Psalm 136

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His mercy endures forever!

These are Gospel implications from Psalm 136 verse by verse:
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.
His mercy endures forever! (v. 1)
Give thanks to the God of gods
Give thanks to the Lord of lords (vv. 2-3)
Give thanks to the King of kings
Give thanks to the Prince of peace
His mercy endures forever!
He alone does great wonders - forming the heavens by His wisdom and spreading out the earth upon the waters.
He made the great lights.
The sun to rule over the day
The moon and stars to rule over the night
His mercy endures forever! (vv. 4-9)
He delivers us out of captivity with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm (vv. 10-12)
He miraculously shields us on every side and rescues us from our enemies (vv. 13-15)
He leads us through barren wastelands (v. 16)
He struck down sin and defeated death to give us a great inheritance in Jesus Christ (vv. 17-22)
He remembered us in our lowly state (v. 23)
And freed us from our slavery (v. 24)
He provides our every need (v. 25)
Give thanks to the God of heaven
His mercy endures forever! (v. 26)
