The 2025 Volvo EX90 Is The Biggest, Most Powerful & Most Luxurious Volvo Ever!

Volvo could have a real winner on their hands with the EX90 if they can iron out the software kinks and make enough of them. This is finally the boxy, pragmatic, safety and family focused 3-row EV so many have been asking for. If you need a big back seat you'll want to wait for an Escalade IQ, but for most until we see an Acura MDX EV, this and the Rivian R1S stand mostly alone.

I have two gripes:
1. That’s a big enough infotainment screen that it should display the backup camera simultaneously with the 360 view. This drove me crazy on my wife’s XC90
2. Why do mainstream manufacturers with great gauge clusters in their ICE vehicles think that consumers paying more for an EV want a smaller gauge cluster?!?

The sales of the Kia EV9 are expected to increase even more.

No electrochromic dimming for the glass roof is a fail without a retractable cover.

Overall I like it, but like the EV9 more.

Can't comfortably fit 3 in 2nd row, can't comfortably fit 2 in the 3rd row. What's this? The leg rooms look so cramped!

All I can think of after seeing this is that the Kia EV9 dosen’t have much to worry about… and the Hyundai Ioniq9 is about to drop at the upcoming LA auto show with a release date of July 2025

This looks great but that non-shaded roof is a dealbreaker

The XC90 remains IMO the best looking SUV in its class. Volvo did a great job here as well with the EX90, looks like a proper evolution of the current version. I still would love a “normal” grille tho.

The exterior design is very clean and handsome, and the proportions look about perfect. Kudos to Volvo for not creating a blob. Unfortunately, the refreshing design makes the lidar bump stand out that much more. The bump reminds me of the third brake light on the 1986 Camaro and Firebird, which mercifully lasted only one year.

That 3rd row is garbage. Really glad I went for the EV9 instead of waiting for this thing.

The foam divider in the underfloor storage may provide some vertical support to keep heavy items resting on it from breaking through to the underfloor area.

FUN FACT: Model X with third row DOES qualify for the full tax credit as long as you buy the 8K FSD package.

Long story short Tesla lets you pick any seating configuration free of charge as long as you buy FSD with the Model X. This means a 3 row Model X qualifies for the tax credit because the 8K FSD is all software and doesn't get factored into the 80K price cap. In other words even though a Model X FSD 7 seater costs 88K, the government sees it as a 80K vehicle and this qualifies for the tax credit.

Basically you can get a 6 seater Model X with FSD for 88K which is a great deal. Teslas latest updates on autopilot and FSD are quite impressive and usable

The modern interpretation of hidden headlamps looks great. Nicely executed, Volvo! It'll take me a while to find the rest of the exterior as lovely as the current flagship
XC90 though.

since this is the 90 as well, I won't be surprised if the next gen XC90 shares the platform, even some body parts.

We have an XC90 that we like, but i think the lucid gravity is going to destroy the EX90 on every spec, and you didn't mention it.

KIA EV9 is better as far as a 3 rd SUV. R1S is better value for $90k. The Volvo is basically a 2 Row SUV with a faux 3rd, unusable, row. So get any of the EV Crossovers/SUV for under $60k. This is DOA except for Volvo Fans.

The Kia EV9 is less expensive and provides more space in the 3rd row. A no-brainer.

Very well done video. I really do like the way you conduct the narrate in the videos. It is very calming and very informative. No need for using terms like “twinkies, 7-11 slurppies, ding dongs “ like in the other auto review channel. Great job.

Is it really AoA/ABG if it doesn't cover whether it has Amber turn-indicators?
