A computer-assisted proof of Wright's conjecture: counting and discounting slowly oscillating periodic solutions to a DDE

Abstract:

Biography:
Jonathan Jaquette is a postdoc at Boston University, having previously held positions at MSRI and Brandeis University. He received his PhD in 2018 from Rutgers University under the supervision of Konstantin Mischaikow. His thesis studied the delay differential equation known as Wright’s equation and resolved conjectures dating back to 1955 due to E.M. Wright and G.S. Jones. Jaquette’s research broadly focuses on studying dynamical systems using constructive methods, in particular computer-assisted proofs, Fourier/spectral methods, and bifurcation analysis.
