In a nutshell, The Power of moments illuminates why certain experiences have extraordinary impact and teach us how to create more defining moments throughout life.

We all have defining moments in our lives! Meaningful experiences that stand out in our memory. When trying to recall them, we often immediately remember the obvious candidates like; our wedding day or the day we graduated college. But According to Chip and Dan Heath, a ‘Defining moment’ can just as well consist of minor crucial moments from everyday life. Short memorable experiences, like walking your dog while the sun is coming down or having a meaningful conversation with a friend on a Tuesday morning.
In any case, the good news is that if you put effort into it, you can design and create defining moments deliberately. You do this by giving attention and effort to instances that might otherwise go unattended.

During their research, ‘the Heaths’ found that defining moments are:

- Meaningful
- and Memorable.
Further to this, they found that they can be created by drawing from one or more of the following four elements: Elevation, Insight, Pride, and Connection:
