will this work effectively with foam backed vinyl siding that you need to reuse?

A metal paint can opener works for me.

I bought one of these from Grangers, Im holding it in my hand right now and it Clearly says on the handle Malco SRT2 SideSwiper II, i had high hopes that it would work as easy as in the video, but it doesnt work AT ALL. I spent an HOUR thinking i must be doing something wrong, then finally I came in to watch the video in slow motion. the FIRST thing i noticed is that that siding is already very loose, it doesnt curl enough to lock in fact that siding would fall off on its OWN the curls arent even TOUCHING each other. in real life one curls over the other to snap into place and no matter how hard i tried i couldnt force that curl on the tool high enough under the siding to catch that lip its supposed to catch because in the REAL world that lip is all the way up touching the downward curl and the pieces are LOCKED together not loose like the picture. junk, absolute junk i gave $13 for,

Well you can add one more to the list. Maybe we should have read farther down.

You need access to the edges to make the tool be useful. Video is misleading.
